Test Procedure

Follow these steps to perform the test:

1. Remove the sterile swab from the pouch.


2. Moisten the tip of the swab in a test tube with sterile saline solution.


3. Remove excess liquid by pressing the tip against the walls of the test tube.


4. Rub the swab on a surface of 10cm x 10cm in both directions.


5. Insert the swab into the test tube with the culture medium.


6. Cap the test tube and note the date and sampling point.


7. Incubate at 37°C for 18-24 hours.

Result Interpretation

Observe the color change of the culture medium and fluorescence under Wood's lamp to interpret the results:

• Yellow Medium: Absence of E.coli/coliforms.
