Description
Discover the EnteroPluri Test System, the ideal solution for the rapid and effective identification of Enterobacteriaceae and other gram-negative, oxidase-negative bacteria. This innovative 12-sector system is designed to simplify the process of microbiological identification, making it accessible and precise for clinical and research laboratories.
Features of the EnteroPluri-Test System
- Rapid Identification: Allows simultaneous inoculation of all media in the sectors, facilitating up to 15 biochemical reactions in a single step.
- Ease of Use: The system is designed for simple use, with clear instructions included in the package.
- Reliable Results: Results are obtained by evaluating the color change of the culture media after 18-24 hours of incubation at 36 ± 1°C, ensuring accurate analysis.
Package Contents
Each EnteroPluri-Test package is available in two formats: 10 or 25 tests. The package includes:
- 10 or 25 EnteroPluri-Tests
- 1 detailed instruction sheet
- 1 pad of forms for collecting biochemical reaction results
Required Products Not Included
For complete use of the system, it is recommended to also procure the following products:
- Kovac’s Reagent Ref. 80271
- EnteroPluri-Test Code Manual Ref. 71709
- Oxidase test sticks / swabs / discs Ref. 88029 / 88003 / 88004
- VP test EP Ref. 80281
Method Principle
The EnteroPluri-Test method allows the identification of gram-negative, oxidase-negative bacteria isolated from clinical and environmental samples. Identification is based on biochemical tests performed on culture media with specific substrates. The combinations of positive and negative reactions generate a numerical code that, with the help of the Code Manual, allows the identification of the bacteria under examination.
Sample Collection
The system is designed to identify gram-negative, oxidase-negative bacteria isolated on selective agar culture media, such as:
- Mac Conkey Agar (MCA)
- Eosin Methylene Blue Agar (EMBA)
- Salmonella and Shigella Agar (SSA)
- Hektoen Enteric Agar (HEA)
Non-selective media can also be used for isolation.
Test Procedure
To ensure reliable results, it is essential that the microorganism to be identified is from a recent isolation (18-24 hours). Bacteria from cultures older than 48 hours may yield unreliable results. Before proceeding with the inoculation of the microorganism, it is recommended to perform Gram staining and the oxidase test. Only gram-negative, oxidase-negative bacteria can be inoculated onto the EnteroPluri-Test. For the correct execution of both tests, refer to the appropriate bacteriology manuals.
Conclusions
The EnteroPluri Test System is a complete and reliable solution for the identification of Enterobacteriaceae and other gram-negative bacteria. With its ease of use and reliable results, it is a must-have for any microbiological laboratory.
