FEBRILE MULTITEST KIT – Test for Salmonella and Brucella – Liofilchem

The Febrile Multitest Kit Liofilchem is an in vitro diagnostic kit for the determination of antibodies associated with infections by Salmonella and Brucella, using the slide agglutination technique with colored and inactivated bacterial suspensions.

The principle of the test is based on the reaction between the antibodies present in the patient's serum and the bacterial antigens contained in the reagents, with the consequent formation of visible agglutinates.

The coloring of the bacterial suspensions facilitates the observation of the reaction and the reading of the results.

The kit allows for qualitative analyses and, through serial dilutions of the sample, quantitative determinations of antibody titer.

The reagents are ready to use, and the product is intended exclusively for professional use in clinical diagnostic laboratories.

Test principle

Antibodies associated with Salmonella and Brucella infections cause agglutination of the inactivated bacterial suspensions present in the reagents.

The reaction is observed directly on a slide and allows for the detection of specific antibodies in the serum sample.

For the qualitative procedure, 80 µl of serum and 50 µl of bacterial suspension are used. The mixture is distributed on the slide and agitated for one minute.

In the presence of a positive reaction, it is recommended to proceed with serum titration using macro or micro methods.

Storage and precautions

Store the kit at a temperature between +2 °C and +8 °C, avoiding freezing of the reagents.

Before use, thoroughly resuspend the bacterial suspensions by repeatedly inverting the vials.

Use only suitable serum samples and follow the procedures indicated by the manufacturer.
