Chromatic™ Clostridium difficile is a selective chromogenic medium designed for the isolation and rapid identification of Clostridium difficile in clinical samples and healthcare-relevant materials.

Thanks to its advanced formulation, it makes it possible to detect the presence of the microorganism through the formation of colorless fluorescent colonies under UV light (356 nm), while minimizing the risk of false positives caused by other bacteria, yeasts or molds.

Test procedure

Inoculate the sample by streaking directly onto the surface of the medium or by using a preliminary enrichment step
Incubate at 35 ± 2°C for 24 hours in an anaerobic atmosphere
After incubation, observe bacterial growth
Typical C. difficile colonies appear colorless and fluorescent under UV light (356 nm)
It is recommended to perform additional biochemical or molecular tests to confirm identification

Light amber appearance, slightly opalescent
Store at 2-8°C away from light
Shelf life 4 months
