Yeast Identification

Yeast identification takes place through the assimilation of various sugars, which causes a pH change and a consequent color change in the wells. The results are interpreted by analyzing the color shift from wells 1-GLU to 12-DUL. The combination of positive and negative reactions generates a numeric code, which makes it possible to identify the yeast by consulting the codebook or using the dedicated software, available online or for installation on PC.

Antifungal Susceptibility Testing

Susceptibility tests are performed in wells 14-NY to 23-FLU, evaluating the growth or inhibition of yeasts in the presence of antifungals. Color changes in the AST wells indicate:
