MacConkey Agar - Selective and Differential Medium for Enterobacteriaceae
Product description:
MacConkey Agar is a slightly selective culture medium, ideal for the isolation of Gram-negative enteric bacilli. It is commonly used for the analysis of clinical samples such as stool and urine, as well as for testing food, wastewater and other materials relevant from a health perspective.
MacConkey Agar allows differentiation between lactose-fermenting and non-lactose-fermenting microorganisms, thus facilitating the identification of specific pathogens.
The product complies with the guidelines of the United States Pharmacopeia (USP), European Pharmacopeia (EP) and Japanese Pharmacopeia (JP) for the detection of Escherichia coli in non-sterile products.
Recommended use:
Detection of Enterobacteriaceae from clinical samples and materials of health interest.
Isolation and differentiation of Escherichia coli and other microorganisms in accordance with international pharmacopeias.
