INTENDED USE
Recommended medium for antimicrobial susceptibility testing of common rapidly growing aerobic microorganisms,
using the disk diffusion technique (Kirby-Bauer method), as standardized by the Clinical
and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) and the European Committee on Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing
(EUCAST).
DESCRIPTION
With the increase in antimicrobial resistance, the antibiogram of aerobic bacteria is becoming increasingly
relevant. Mueller Hinton II Agar allows excellent growth of most aerobic bacteria.
This medium contains a low concentration of thymine and thymidine and a controlled level of calcium and
magnesium ions.
It complies with the recommendations of CLSI (Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute) and EUCAST
(European Committee on Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing).
