Main Features of the PA5 Audiometer

AutoPalpebral Reflex (APR) Test

The APR test triggers a blink reflex through relatively loud sounds, and is suitable for newborns from the day of birth. This test does not require the child's cooperation, making it ideal for the youngest.

Conditioned Orientation Response (COR) Test

The COR test is based on the orientation reflex, a natural reflex triggered by a sound or visual stimulation. If conditioning is effective, the child will look in the direction of the sound even before the visual stimulation is presented.

Visual Reinforcement Audiometry (VRA)

The VRA is an extension and modification of the COR, where the child's cooperation is less important. This test accepts not only the orientation and localization reflex but also four other reactions: body and facial reflexes, searching reactions, orientation, and spontaneous reactions.

Assessment of Progression of Auditory and Audiometric Responses

Various stimuli are presented with different intensities, frequencies, durations, and sound directions to provoke specific reactions in the child, such as awakening, crying, surprise, and direct sound localization.
