Rapid Hepatitis B HBsAg Test – Cassette (Whole Blood / Serum / Plasma)

The HBsAg rapid cassette test is an immunochromatographic device for the qualitative detection of hepatitis B virus surface antigen (HBsAg) in whole blood, serum or plasma samples.

This test is designed to support rapid screening for hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection in healthcare and laboratory settings.

Viral hepatitis is a systemic disease that primarily affects the liver. The presence of HBsAg in the blood indicates an active hepatitis B infection, both in the acute and chronic phase. In a typical infection, HBsAg can be detected 2–4 weeks before ALT changes and 3–5 weeks before the appearance of clinical symptoms.

The test uses a combination of monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies to selectively detect the HBsAg antigen.

Test principle

The device uses a membrane-based chromatographic immunoassay with a two-site sandwich method.
