Description
Rapid Influenza A+B Screen Test Flu – pack of 20 tests
The Screen Test Flu Influenza A+B is a rapid immunochromatographic test for the qualitative detection of antigens of the Influenza A and Influenza B virus in nasal swab, throat swab, or nasal aspirate samples.
The test is intended to support the rapid differential diagnosis of influenza infections, enabling the identification of viral antigens directly from the patient sample.
Features
- Rapid immunochromatographic test
Qualitative detection of Influenza A and B antigens
- Rapid results in about 15 minutes
Usable with nasal swab, throat swab, or nasal aspirate samples
- Support for the rapid diagnosis of influenza infections
Test principle
The test uses lateral flow immunochromatographic technology. The extracted sample reacts with specific antibodies directed against the nucleoproteins of Influenza A and B viruses. During the migration of the sample along the device membrane, the antigen-antibody complex is captured in the test zones, producing a colored line.
The appearance of a colored line in the test zone indicates a positive result for Influenza A and/or Influenza B. A line in the control zone confirms that the test was performed correctly.
Clinical context
Influenza is an acute viral infection of the respiratory tract that is highly contagious, transmitted mainly through respiratory droplets produced by coughing and sneezing. Type A viruses are generally associated with the most widespread and severe epidemics, while infections caused by type B viruses are usually milder.
