Description
Description
Discover our 16x100 Tube with label and snap cap, prefilled with buffered formaldehyde at 4%. This solution is ideal for the transport and preservation of biological samples, ensuring excellent protection and safety during laboratory operations.
Product Features
- Capacity: 10 ml
- Formaldehyde Amount: 6 ml
- Dimensions: Tube 16 mm in diameter and 100 mm in height
- Quantity per package: 50 pcs
Advantages of the Prefilled Tube
These disposable tubes are designed to minimize the operator's exposure to formaldehyde, since no transfer operations are required. Thanks to the snap cap, sealing is guaranteed, reducing the risk of spills and increasing safety during use.
Use of 4% Buffered Formaldehyde
4% buffered formaldehyde, also known as 10% buffered formalin, is one of the most widely used fixatives in histopathology. It offers numerous advantages:
- Inactivation of autolytic enzymes and bacteria, preventing tissue putrefaction.
- Structural stability of the chemical constituents of the protoplasm.
- Hardens protein gels without separating water from proteins.
- Penetrates tissues quickly, ensuring gradual hardening.
Solution Composition
The composition of 4% buffered formaldehyde includes:
- Formaldehyde (3.80% ÷ 4.40%)
- Methanol < 0.1%
- Disodium phosphate
- Monosodium phosphate
- Deionized water
The buffer molarity is 75 millimoles/liter with a pH of 7 ± 0.1.
Instructions for Use
To ensure proper use of the tube, follow the instructions:
Container with Snap Cap
- Tear off the safety seal at the base of the lid.
- Lift the lid, positioning yourself behind the opening direction.
- Insert the sample, avoiding formaldehyde spills.
- Place the lid on the edge of the container.
- Press the center of the lid and along the edge of the container to secure it.
- Make sure the lid fits perfectly.
Container with Screw Cap
- Unscrew the cap and insert the sample, avoiding formaldehyde spills.
- Put the cap back on, following the threading correctly.
- Tighten well.
Precautions and Safety
During transport and use, it is essential to take the following precautions:
- Avoid spills, shocks, and excessive handling.
- Always use personal protective equipment (mask, gloves, and protective goggles).
- Carefully read the information on the label and the safety data sheet.
Remember that improper closure of containers can cause formalin spills.
Labeling
The containers are equipped with labeling compliant with European Parliament Regulation No. 1272/2008 (CLP) and UNI EN ISO 7010 standard (Biohazard symbol), thus ensuring maximum safety for the operator.
