INTENDED USE
Vaseline Oil for microbiological use is used to maintain anaerobic conditions for microbial growth and for
biochemical test performance. This reagent is intended as an aid in the diagnosis of bacterial infections and
additional tests are required to complete the diagnostic results.

DESCRIPTION
Vaseline Oil Droppers is a material used to maintain an anaerobic environment for the growth of
microorganisms and for performing certain biochemical tests suitable for their identification. The use of the product is
particularly recommended with the microbial identification systems produced by Liofilchem srl, when indicated
in the system’s instructions for use.

PRINCIPLE OF THE METHOD
Vaseline Oil, due to its physicochemical characteristics, prevents atmospheric oxygen from coming into contact with the
medium and with the microorganism, thus ensuring the maintenance of a level of anaerobiosis sufficient for the purpose for
which the product is intended.
